What is Signs of Courage?
During the 2023-24 school year, Groundwork Arts artists worked with 6th-grade students on a special project called Signs of Courage. Students learned about messaging, graphic imagery, typeface, color, and shape, and created hundreds of art signs with encouraging messages in response to the challenging issues they face.
Winning Signs Unveiled
All 11 elementary schools voted for their favorite signs, and 38 were selected for reproduction. These large outdoor street signs will be unveiled to the public.

Public Art Installation
On September 7th, the street signs will debut at the 29 Palms Farmers Market from 8am - 1pm. For the rest of the month, they will be displayed on Freedom Plaza Square, near Hwy 62.
